Gynura aurantiaca, also known as Purple Passion is an evergreen perennial flowering plant species. It is well appreciated as a houseplant because of its fuzzy and bushy foliage of purple colored leaves. These plants have greenish leaves in coarsely-toothed shape. Its leaves, stems, and bracts are covered with reddish-purple hairs. Its flowers are yellowish orange and have a very bad odor. This plant can grow up to 30 cm (12 in) tall. It is basically native to Java and Indonesia. Gynura aurantiaca should be placed bright light spots, but filtered sunlight or in shade. It requires very less watering as roots are highly sensitive and overwatering can cause root decay issues. Soil should have moderate amount of moisture.
