Flaming Katy (Kalanchoe) is a genus of succulent flowering plants, loved by people for household plantation and gardening landscapes. They are mainly native to Madagascar and tropical Africa. Kalanchoe was one of the first plants to be sent into space, sent on a resupply to the Soviet Salyut 1 space station in 1971. Kalanchoe plants are mostly the shrubs or perennial herbaceous plants, but a few are annual or biennial. The deep green, scalloped leaves of the kalanchoe are very attractive as the flowers. They produce long-lasting beautiful flowers and bloom in winter to spring. They grow best in bright light with partial shade, adequate watering provided soil should be dry before next watering.
