Trumpet Pitcher (Sarracenia) plant genus is a carnivorous plant species native to the eastern seaboard of the United States, Texas, the Great Lakes area and southeastern Canada.Their leaves are sometimes bizarre and also handsome leaves which can catch insects such as ants, flies, and wasps. Their flowers are highly beautiful, and unique making its foliage more engrossing to use for interior spaces of house and spaces.This perennial plant species which have tubular pitcher-shaped leaves producing out from the growing point, and then turning upwards making a vertical tube-like trap. The trap has a ‘hood’ (the operculum) extending over its entrance, and below it, the top of the tube usually has a rolled lip (the peristome) which secretes nectar and scents. This plant requires heavy watering to keep it wet and can even grow in water gardens. It needs boggy, moist soil. Pitcher plants grow well in full sun to light shade.
