Foxtail Fern

Asparagus Myerii (Foxtail fern) is a beautiful house and garden plant species. It is a branching, evergreen, drought-resistant plant with strong green aerial stems, covered with small beautiful spines. Its leaves are leaf-like cladodes, which are 0.8–2 cm long and 0.1-0.2 cm wide, and form a shape of beautiful fern with combining in groups of four or more from the stem. Asparagus ferns tolerate full sun, although their leaves tend to yellow. They perform better with morning sun and afternoon shade, or even light shade. This plant likes full, bright sunlight, with partial shading. It is well known for drought-resistant capabilities, however, for best results, it requires regular watering every day and once/twice a week in the winter season. This plant can grow 3 to 4 feet across. They are native to the Cape Provinces and the Northern Provinces of South Africa.
