Ficus elastica, well known as the Rubber Plant is a popular indoor show plant is native to India, Nepal, Myanmar, China, Malaysia & others. In natural habitats, it is a tall tree almost up to 30 meters in height. However, as a houseplant, it is perfectly manageable to raise in the height range of 1 feet to 8 feet. It looks simply amazing because of its glossy, leathery leaves which come in a variety of color shades such as in upper layers they can have dark green, light green, light purple, and nearly red or dark magenta colors, and in the lower layer, they mostly have faded shades in light green, light purple, and dark magenta colors. This plant grows well in low light exposures and should have moderate watering.
